Hyde Park Corner

VIBE
Stylish in a contemporary British manner. The color scheme seems to tap feng shui principles: soft yellows in the foyer cheerfully welcome guests, while rooms done in soft grays, blues, and other neutrals soothe one after a long day out and about on the town.
GO HERE WITH
Significant other, spouse, mother, or anyone looking for a traditional British experience with modern conveniences. In a quieter area just off Hyde Park and near the shopping in Knightsbridge, this hotel works well for a ladies’ trip or for a quiet weekend in London.
WHY WE LIKE IT
Classic English hotel service (i.e., attentive and reserved yet friendly) in a stylish boutique.
AMENITY WE LOVE
Rooftop pool–a gorgeous space with a retractable roof for cooler weather. You forget that you are smack in the middle of the city as you lounge in your pool chair overlooking Hyde Park and Knightsbridge.
WHAT WE WOULD CHANGE
Some rooms could use a bit of a facelift, but for the most part the Brits did it just right with this one.
GOOD TO KNOW
Ask for a Hyde Park view or a room above the 3rd floor on the inner courtyard, which tend to be more modern/refurbished than the Church side. Pool access for children is limited to certain hours–check with the concierge for exact times. Japanese and traditional English breakfasts are available. Same hotel owners (Maybourne Hotel Group) as Claridge’s and the Connaught.
