WHY WE LIKE IT
Interesting exhibits with different themed beds of flowers and plants. It’s perfect for a picnic but also has an educational and historical spin to it. It’s one of the hidden gems of London–most Londoners have never been.
WHAT WE WOULD CHANGE
Price. GBP 8 is a little steep!
GOOD TO KNOW
Harks back to the 1600s and was used for growing medicinal plants by apothecaries. Its rock garden is the oldest English garden devoted to alpine plants. The largest fruiting olive tree in Britain is there, protected by the garden’s heat-trapping high brick walls, along with the world’s northernmost grapefruit growing outdoors.
