    VIBE

Funky business (i.e., business people could feel comfortable here but the Mad Hatter décor ups the cool factor). Hotel is only one floor, so it’s intimate with friendly yet unobtrusive service.

    WHY WE LIKE IT

Its aesthetic is different and more masculine than other hotels in the same price range. There are some great complimentary offerings (e.g., canapes, business center, wireless). The common areas are quite nice: the lounge has enough of a business ambiance to make the daytime meetings comfortable, but at night, the dark wood and fireplace make the library ideal for a cozy nightcap.

    AMENITY WE LOVE

Candles in the bath and lavender on your pillow at bedtime. Pet Concierge for extra pooch pampering. Snacks post 8:30pm in the library/executive lounge.

    WHAT WE WOULD CHANGE

Location is a bit touristy with lots of slow foot traffic and people milling about (think NYC’s Times Square). Upside is proximity to tourist sites.

    GOOD TO KNOW

Ask for the king size room with skylight. It’s the only one in London as such. Because the hotel occupies the top floor of the building, they make an effort to incorporate skylights into the space, both in the rooms and also in the Executive Lounge with its glass roof. Hospitality suites, which include a personal assistant, have king-sized bedrooms with meeting room or extra bedroom and two full baths.
