Knightsbridge

VIBE
Old school lobby (dark woods, huge staircase) and rooms, complemented by modern aspects such as the Mandarin Bar. With historic charm enhanced by the site’s former status as the Hyde Park Hotel, the hotel delivers the royal treatment to all guests, regardless of your family tree.
GO HERE WITH
Anyone who can afford it and wants to be right on Hyde Park. Your parents; your family; your significant other; your co-workers–anybody and everybody will enjoy the hotel.
WHY WE LIKE IT
It’s the Mandarin Oriental…which is synonymous with beautiful service in a setting designed to pamper one from head to toe. The location in the heart of Knightsbridge and beside Hyde Park is ideal for shopping and relaxing.
AMENITY WE LOVE
The attentive concierge and the world-class spa are two of the best features of this hotel. Use both to make your trip truly spectacular: first the concierge to get you into the hottest shows and restaurants, then the spa to unwind under the ministrations of some of the world’s best spa therapists. Use of spa heat facilities is complimentary for hotel guests 7:00am-9:00am (non-guests must pay a GBP 25 charge).
WHAT WE WOULD CHANGE
Some claim that rooms on Knightsbridge side are noisy–opt for a room on the Hyde Park side.
GOOD TO KNOW
A “royal” hotel (i.e., royal guests abound); guests can request entrance via the Royal Entrance from the Hyde Park side. Past royal entrance guests include the Imperial Family of Japan. And, call the hotel for a porter to collect your packages on the streets of Knightsbridge, so that you can keep shopping without dropping (your many accumulated packages). All rooms are individually designed, which means that no two are the same. When selecting your room, three views are available: Courtyard, Knightsbridge, and Hyde Park.
