Professional but stylish. Housed in a former bank. Enter through solid oak doors and marble columns to a gorgeous domed atrium with lovely stained glass. While you might expect the hotel a touch stuffy given this entrance, this isn’t the case at all. The rooms are modern and sleek, staff is friendly and helpful, and the amenities round out the welcoming you receive. 

GO HERE WITH

Co-workers, yourself, or significant other if you have to be on the East End of London (the area lends itself to a mostly financial crowd).

WHY WE LIKE IT

Lovely service, pleasing aesthetics–all is as it should be, everything just works. There’s no nickel-and-diming here (complimentary wireless, coffee/tea, newspaper, etc.).

AMENITY WE LOVE

Each bathroom features a cute little complimentary rubber ducky. This whimsical touch reflects  the hotel’s overarching theme: professional, sleek, but with a little something unexpected. Other great in-room amenities include iPod docking stations, coffee/tea makers, and plentiful power outlets.

WHAT WE WOULD CHANGE

We’d add a gym which would be great for business travelers looking to get a workout in the morning or after a long day at work. Also, the Tube or bus ride to decent nightlife and shopping is a bit of a bear.

GOOD TO KNOW

While you can get great room rates on weekends, the neighborhood largely shuts down, and only room service (no restaurant) is available these days.
