Unpretentious Mediterranean hospitality. Sardo welcomes customers with open arms, a simple yet comfortable space, and outstanding Sardinian eats. Located on the ground floor of a Fitzrovia townhouse, the restaurant brings a warm southern Italian feel to a chilly British street with its rustic whitewashed exterior and cheery yellow-toned dining room. The patio is an al fresco treat when it’s sunny, perfect for enjoying a delicious meal. It’s no wonder that famous names line the guest list and tables are booked months in advance.

Vibrant mix of everyone from power-scene execs and highly-strung media types to tweedy academics from the nearby university, laidback daters, and friendly locals.

WHAT WE WOULD WEAR

It’s upscale casual (with a decided emphasis on the casual)–dressy flats, a simple skirt, and a cute top would do the trick.

WHY WE LIKE IT

The food is absolutely lovely (particularly those phenomenal olives!!) and sensibly priced! The warm, relaxed atmosphere is soothing and welcoming. Oh yeah–and the service is flat out perfect.

WHAT WE WOULD CHANGE

Really not much we want to change! The jingling bells of the dumbwaiter can be slightly irritating–but we can deal with them if it means we get to spend more time at Sardo.

GOOD TO KNOW

Though they don’t have a private room, there is a separate area that can be reserved for private parties. Check out their set menu for large groups; it’s posted on their website.
