    VIBE

This London outlet of the legendary Trishna in Mumbai is much more restrained than the original: bright colors and noisy crowds have been replaced with pale Scandinavian minimalism and the refined clinking of cutlery. No worries though, the southern Indian seafood dishes are still as vibrant as ever and clientele chattily sociable if not gregarious. The space is divided into a variety of smaller rooms which makes for a cozy feel.

    CROWD

A mix of Marylebone locals, fanatic foodies, Indian expats, and young professionals

    WHAT WE WOULD WEAR

It’s fairly casual–we’d wear cute pants, a sweater, and flats.

    WHY WE LIKE IT

The food is really lovely, and while the setting lacks sizzle, its quiet sophistication is still more than suitable for a low-key date or a group meal out.

    WHAT WE WOULD CHANGE

The minimalist decor is nice enough, but it could use a bit more pizzazz. The food and atmosphere just don’t match each other.

    GOOD TO KNOW

If you can’t score a reservation, you may still be able to grab a seat at the more casual Koliwada table (Fisherman’s table), which doesn’t take bookings. It seats ten and is great for a quick meal, a drink, or solo dining. Also, feel free to bring all your vegetarian friends here; Trishna has plenty of meat-free options on the menu. Finally, for those who really like the food, they now offer master classes on Sunday afternoons (GBP 60 per person).
