VIBE
Royal residence since the 17th Century, and where the People's Princess lived 1981-1997 (her quarters are not open to the public). The spot celebrates its heritage by opening the State Rooms to the public and by displaying royal outfits through the ages in the Royal Ceremonial Dress Collection. It has a distinctly country feel, located in a garden setting on the far west side of Hyde Park.

WHY WE LIKE IT
We love seeing the Royal dresses and also the Gardens and area surrounding the Palace. The whole package (visit the Palace, lounge in the Gardens, even stop by the neighboring Orangery for afternoon tea or cake) makes for a lovely outing, British style. Be sure to visit when the weather is nice.
WHAT WE WOULD CHANGE
The temporary exhibitions can be hit or miss and can really make or break your experience. When we visited, we enjoyed seeing Diana’s Dresses on display, but were less crazy about the exhibit chronicling life as a London Debutante. You can prepare by checking the website prior to your visit.
GOOD TO KNOW
Kensington Palace is available for corporate, charity, and private events including wedding receptions.
