This playfully upscale shopping complex in expat district Sanlitun has a vaguely ski village feel with its colorful glass panels, confusing maze of outdoor escalators and skywalks, and cute fountain-filled “piazza.” Mega-brands like Levi's, Esprit, Benetton, and Apple are well represented, and there’s a funky selection of restaurants and cafés too. We like the healthy brunches at Element Fresh, the kicking Hunan bites at Karaiya Spice House, and the pints and burgers at evening hangout Blue Frog.
