    VIBE

“Tian” means heaven in Chinese…and in the heavens you shall be at this 60th-floor spa, where floor-to-ceiling windows provide panoramas that take in everything from the avant-garde architectural delights of the Central Business District to the verdant mountains ringing the city. Should you happen to take your eyes away from the view, you’ll find the earthly delights on offer in this calming, plush-yet-minimalist space (including a menu of treatments informed by traditional Chinese medicine) to be equally inspiring.

    WHY WE LIKE IT

It’s worth a visit just for the views alone, but the cutting-edge facilities are outstanding as well. We dig the Chinese focus with the treatments–much nicer than a boring could-be-anywhere menu of treatments available at many international hotels.

    WHAT WE WOULD CHANGE

All treatments are inspired by traditional Chinese medicine, which is great if that’s your thing…but kind of one-dimensional if not.

    GOOD TO KNOW

There’s also a second, smaller spa on the lower floors of the hotel, called Park Life, which only offers a short menu of Chinese massages (we indulged here and can say that these massages are top notch–the refined, minimalist space features earthy wood tones and full locker/steam facilities). Sometimes if you book a basic Chinese massage at Tian, they will send you downstairs by default, so be sure to specify if you prefer Tian to Park Life. For those who aren’t just here for the R&R, personal trainers are available in the fitness center. Guests are asked to arrive 30 minutes before their treatment. Robe and slippers are provided. 8-hour notice required for cancellations (24 hours if you have booked one of the signature “Collections” treatments).
