Like the other fashion markets around town, Yaxiu has more than its fair share of pushy vendors, definitely-not-silk silk robes, and “Lois Vuttin” bags, but a handful of speedy third- and fourth-floor tailoring services put it ahead of the competition. Sure, these suits aren’t exactly Saville Row material, but they’re precisely stitched, well-fitted, and best of all, ready in 24 hours.

The suits are actually pretty spiffy–especially considering the speedy turn around. We also appreciate that Yaxiu is slightly less touristy than other fake fashion markets in town, so the vendors are (slightly) more chilled out.

GOOD TO KNOW

The market is also sometimes called “Yashow”–same pronunciation, different spelling. For the best results with the tailors, bring a suit whose cut you like and just have them mimic it. There is also a decent selection of fabrics (cotton to fine wool to cashmere) from which to choose. And don’t forget to bargain; the more you plan on buying, the greater your discount should be.
