Hip feel, but mostly business people stay here. The lobby area is bustling in both the Grill and sitting areas at all times of the day. The Shoreditch location gives it an edge, as does the structure of the building itself; formerly a parking garage, there is an industrial feel.

GO HERE WITH

Coworkers or friends. This is not the place for luxury amenities and pampering. But it is very cool in a hipster sense.

WHY WE LIKE IT

Rooms can be super cheap (GBP 59 and under with some luck!!), and as all rooms are identical, there’s an egalitarian appeal to the hotel. Comfortable beds with duck down duvets, Wi-Fi, flat screen TVs, Aveda shampoo, hairdryers, and free snacks ensure the hotel fulfills its promise: “Luxury where it matters, Budget where it counts.” Plus it’s close to trendy nightlife in Shoreditch.

AMENITY WE LOVE

Complimentary milk and water in mini-fridge–so wholesome! And complimentary Pret-a-Manger brown bag breakfast delivered to your room each morning including orange juice, banana, and a granola yogurt.

WHAT WE WOULD CHANGE

While the egalitarian concept rocks and the queens keep costs down, we’d love an option for a king bed. Oh, and a gym on premises would make this place the perfect easy choice.

GOOD TO KNOW

Six meeting rooms for use. Hoxton was started by Pret-a-Manger owner who was sick of different classes for hotel rooms, hence the identical rooms here. No mini-bars, but supplies, to supplement complimentary milk and water, can be purchased downstairs in lobby (similar to a movie concession stand!).
