VIBE
Though it’s part of a chain, cool boutique vibes pervail at this secluded Bel Air/Brentwood hotel. It’s tucked away on a lush seven-acre estate near the Getty Center, so you can skip out on noisy city bustle. The super-friendly staff and excellent event facilities make this a popular wedding and corporate destination, though a fair few tourists check in for lounging on the sprawling private terraces and making use of the fab onsite facilities, like tennis courts and spa. Great room amenities include flat-screen TV, iPod base station, and coffee maker, although bathrooms are on the small side.

WHY WE LIKE IT
We love the sprawling, spread-out feel, especially in the garden building, but also appreciate the full set of sterling chain-hotel amenities.
AMENITY WE LOVE
Free shuttle to the Getty Center–avoids all parking and transport dilemmas, so you can just relax and enjoy your artsy escapade.
WHAT WE WOULD CHANGE
Thin walls don’t leave much to the imagination in terms of your neighbors’ activities. Also, the slow-as-molasses Internet needs attention. While the address is technically Sunset Boulevard, it’s not on or near "The Strip" (which may actually be a good thing, depending on your perspective).
GOOD TO KNOW
Luxe is super pet-friendly, and they even offer owner-pet getaway packages (though watch out for extra charges for bringing your pet along). When booking, try to score a room in the garden building–they’re more secluded, so you won’t have to deal with the possibility of any traffic noise. If you’ve got a car (a necessity in this town), be prepared for steep parking charges. Luxe is a chain with a series of properties globally, including one on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills.
