This newly renovated W Hotel now features sunny, super comfy rooms and a sterling set of amenities. The staff seems to have been energized by the new look too–once known for its lackluster attitude, this is now one of the friendliest teams in town. Though they’ve generated a bit more scene since the revamp, it’s still not really a hive of Hollywood activity–expect a mainly business traveler crowd. The hotel is set on a relatively quiet Westwood residential street.

WHY WE LIKE IT

It may not have the romance or history of other Hollywood properties, but the cheerful, ultra-spacious rooms are super comfy, and the service is as helpful and professional as it gets. And we know how valuable those Starwood points can be when traveling for work.

WHAT WE WOULD CHANGE

The pool is on the small side, and the parking is really expensive.

GOOD TO KNOW

They offer complimentary transport to area destinations–particularly useful if you’re looking to hit nearby Rodeo Drive. Pets (under 40 lbs) are very welcome and are even treated with a special pet turndown service. (Ask about their pet concierge services as well.) Unfortunately, we’ve heard recently of guests being denied access to the pool area. It's a case where Vegas heavyweight ESCAPE has taken over management of the pool and turned it into party central, especially on weekends. This can be brutal if you're in at the hotel for a quiet, relaxing weekend.) Call ahead to make your way onto the guest list and confirm. Part of the Starwood group that has an excellent loyalty program.
