    VIBE

Leave your vegetable tote at home, this Farmers Market is really more of a deluxe food court with a smattering of shops thrown in than a traditional market. The smorgasbord of offerings is superb and varied, ranging from tacos (check out the Loteria Grill) and Middle Eastern snacks (Moishe’s) to Texas barbecue (Bryan’s Pit BBQ) and ice cream (Bennett’s). It’s always bustling (watch out for lunch rushes) so expect to have to elbow your way in to your snack stand or restaurant of choice.

    CROWD

Lunching locals and office workers mingle with busloads of tourists.

    WHAT WE WOULD WEAR

Something comfortable and preferably with an elastic waistband, for fighting your way through crowds and accommodating all of your many, many snacks.

    WHY WE LIKE IT

There’s so much choice, and the food is great across the board. Ideal for an offbeat brunch or adventurous lunch.

    WHAT WE WOULD CHANGE

While there is a dedicated parking lot, it fills up fast, and it can be tricky to find a spot in the surrounding 'hood.

    GOOD TO KNOW

Though there are a few stalls selling fresh fruit and veg, it’s definitely best to stick to the prepared foods–the produce is only so-so and very overpriced. If you’re looking to avoid the crowds, try coming very early on weekend mornings for breakfast. Ask about parking wherever you eat; some venues will validate.
