    VIBE

This classic diner tucked away in the basement of the Beverly Hills Hotel still draws hung-over starlets to its marble-topped counter for a greasy breakfast fix, just as it did back in the '40s. Cool original features like the banana leaf wallpaper, curvy counter, and vinyl stools give a neat vintage vibe, as does the charmingly down-to-earth service. Snagging one of the 19 seats can be tricky, so stars squeeze in next to nobodies on the counter stools (no tables here).

    CROWD

Everyone from Hollywood’s superstars du jour to hotel guests and in-the-know locals.

    WHAT WE WOULD WEAR

Technically it’s just a greasy spoon, but it’s also in the Beverly Hills Hotel, so while A-listers claim they play it casual and “just roll out of bed and head over,” it might be worth putting in a bit more effort. We’d go with hip-label jeans, a trendy t-shirt, and flats.

    GO HERE WITH

Friends; family; kids. Small numbers are better–large groups may not be able to sit together.

    WHY WE LIKE IT

We love the classic vibes, the interesting mix of diners, and the consistently yummy breakfasts.

    WHAT WE WOULD CHANGE

Seems understaffed (especially on the weekends), and the waits can be really long.

    GOOD TO KNOW

The space is small, so get there early (lines are much shorter early in the morning) or be prepared to wait. To pass the time if you have to wait, grab a free paper from the front of the restaurant.

    CLOSEST COMPS
