    VIBE

This laidback Pacific Coast Highway hotspot pulls in well-heeled beach bunnies and post-surf power punters with its panoramic views of the Pacific, coolly creative seafood dishes, and umbrella-topped exotic fruit cocktails. The airy, shell-toned interiors are simple yet comfortable, but it’s the shaded deck that offers the best seats in the house.

    CROWD

The Malibu elite (including a handful of celebs)–it’s a well-heeled, beachy bunch.

    WHAT WE WOULD WEAR

Something upscale beach casual, like a chic little sundress and stylish sandals.

    WHY WE LIKE IT

The views are breathtaking and the fresh seafood a delight (especially when enjoyed al fresco). We dig the swinging, laidback vibes, too.

    WHAT WE WOULD CHANGE

Even with a reservation, waits for a table can be long, especially on weekends.

    GOOD TO KNOW

The attached Moonshadows Lounge is a weekend hotspot (a DJ spins Thurs.-Sat.) that also serves bites (great option for an afternoon snack by the water) and has super comfortable seating (think beds). The restaurant offers a kids’ menu, though this is a very “grown up” spot in the later evenings, so would be better for a family lunch. Environmental activists at ease: they don’t serve endangered species like Chilean sea bass, blue fin tuna, or black grouper here.
