    VIBE

Power scene dining, Italian style. Not only are the owners celeb chef superstars on America’s Italian fine dining scene, but the rarefied cuisine they produce draws in business and film industry heavy hitters in droves. The look is fittingly “Old Boys’ Club” handsome: all dark woods, rich leathers, and ornate detailing. The green marble Mozzarella Bar buzzes with a younger foodie crowd who is happy to skip out on the sceney dining room for stool-top access to the divine eats.

    CROWD

Heavily laden with graying mega-execs, though younger foodies and scenesters also pack in.

    WHAT WE WOULD WEAR

It’s upscale casual–we’d wear sophisticated black pants, a stylish top, and flats.

Friends; family; groups - the family-style tasting menu is great for sharing.

    WHY WE LIKE IT

We can’t stop dreaming about that gorgeous pasta and oh-so-creamy burrata. Batali and Silverton certainly don’t rest on their laurels–this is some of the most delish Italian fare we’ve had in long time.

    WHAT WE WOULD CHANGE

Portion sizes can be puny, and seats are (too) well packed in.

    GOOD TO KNOW

Getting a reservation here is hard work. They accept bookings up to one month in advance, and it’s definitely worth reserving as close to 30 days ahead as possible to avoid disappointment. If you can’t snag booking, try the Mozzarella Bar which doesn’t require reservations, or order their delicious fare as takeout (check out the Mozza2Go section of their website). Alternatively, you could check out the more casual next-door sister restaurant Pizzeria Mozza.
