VIBE
This twelve-block shopping strip on Melrose Avenue between Fairfax and La Brea Avenues first made a name for itself as hipster central–behind its funky pop-art store fronts, cool kids jockeyed for the latest duds and accessories. Over the years, things have diversified somewhat, with chichi designer boutiques like Miu Miu and Marc Jacobs mixing with trendy Fred Segal and Kitson, unique Loyal Army (great graphic tees), and vintage Decades (high end labels). These days, expect trendy types in hipster caps to be crossing paths with the ever-so-well-heeled ladies who lunch set.

GOOD TO KNOW
Parking can be tricky–bring quarters for the meters on Melrose or snag a space on a side street (just be sure to carefully read all the restriction signs).
