VIBE
This boho neighborhood east of Hollywood is known for its variety of funky, unique independent businesses, and after a skating glance at the legions of hipsters hanging out here (with lots of dogs in tow), it’s clear its indie credentials check out. Offerings range from vintage boutiques to cafés, galleries, and ethnic grocers. Relatively cheap rents have brought up-and-coming designers in droves as well, so you can try your hand at spotting the next big label.

WHY WE LIKE IT
There are tons of quirky-cool finds to be had here if you have time to meander and dive into any shops that catch your eye. It’s an excellent spot for low-key browsing.
GOOD TO KNOW
If you’re in the market for (or collect) new sneaks, check out specialty shoe designers Undefeated on West Sunset Boulevard. Le Pink & Co. has a great selection of beauty products, with facials and other treatments offered in house. The naughty (yet nice) lingerie spot Bittersweet Butterfly is tucked away on nearby Micheltorena Street. And if you need a potent cup of joe to get you going, try Intelligentsia Coffee. While you’re at it, grab a cupcake at Lark Cake Shop, and pick up some cheese at the beautiful gourmet Cheese Shop of Silverlake.
