HIGHLIGHTSHuge movie billboards; Chateau Marmont; Sunset Tower Hotel
During Hollywood’s glamour heyday in the early 20th century, this was the glitziest of nightlife locales, but “the Strip” has evolved from its upscale roots and now can feature some truly shady characters. These days, it’s plastered with massive billboards and lined with a mix of dives, edgy tattoo parlors, glam nightclubs, swish restaurants, and upscale boutiques. Major sights include Sunset Strip Tattoo (where celebs go to get inked), Sunset Tower Hotel (where celebs go to have a cocktail), and the legendary Chateau Marmont Hotel (celeb-infused castle on the hill). The crowd ranges from super sketchy to superstars.

WHY WE LIKE IT
The ultimate Hollywood experience–everything from the trashy and garish to the glammest of glam, all in one blazing stretch of road.
WHAT WE WOULD CHANGE
Tough door policies at some of the most exclusive clubs.
GOOD TO KNOW
This is a no cruising zone–which means you can only drive down it once every few hours. Make sure you’ve got your map at the ready, otherwise you’ll be in trouble if you miss that key turn. (Alternatively…just get out and walk.)
