This elegant yet pleasingly unpretentious boutique is the brainchild of nail guru Jessica Vartoughian, who developed a chemical-free, all-natural nail care regime in 1969 and has been hawking it to Hollywood ever since. This is definitely much more "clinic" than "spa"–some complain the bright, super-clean communal treatment room is a little lacking in touchy-feely ambiance–and the crowd and technicians trend older. But the super convenient location (right in Sunset Plaza and near the Strip) and user-friendly ambiance make it a winner.

We love the all-natural, chemical free treatments.

WHAT WE WOULD CHANGE

They don’t use dryers, which can be annoying if you need to rush off post-manicure. Also, the cash-only policy is inconvenient, especially if you have to dash to the ATM with still drying nails. And we tend to appreciate a younger, more hip, less clinical vibe.

GOOD TO KNOW

Cash only! Also, since Jessica is all about natural nails, they don’t do acrylics, tips, or fills here. For those with cars, there’s tons of parking in the lot behind the clinic. If you wish there were more of a pampering vibe, try Jessica’s new location on Larchmont.
