    VIBE

It’s the attention detail at this elegant boutique hotel housed in a glossy skyscraper at the heart of Fifth Avenue that makes it feel like a place to “get away from it all” even though it’s situated in the midst of the action. In the warm, sunny guestrooms, touches like packing and unpacking services, complimentary pressing, custom Pratesi linens, freshly ground espresso beans for the high-end coffeemaker, bath products by Lorenzo Villoresi Firenze for Bottega, and fresh macarons at turndown make us feel like we’re staying with a particularly thoughtful friend. Plus, with a personal assistant available 24 hours a day to attend our needs, we barely need to step foot outside the room. With elegant onsite fine dining at Ai Fiori and swanky cocktails at Bar on Fifth, we don't need to venture outside the confines of the hotel either (but of course Fifth Avenue awaits, so we must...).

    WHY WE LIKE IT

We love indulging in the residential atmosphere and making the most of the enormous guestrooms (the “smallest” rooms start at around 400 sq. ft.), the decadent spa (which comes complete with “Chill Room,” “Aqua Lounge,” and hammam), and those oh-so-handy personal assistants. When we feel like going out (we can’t spend the whole trip in the hotel, after all) Bar on Fifth is a good starting point. The space is gorgeous, the cocktails smooth, and the scene and location (right on Fifth Avenue) make us feel like we’re “in it.”

    AMENITY WE LOVE

Having a personal assistant available 24 hours a day.

    WHAT WE WOULD CHANGE

The hard sell for products at the end of spa treatments needs to go–talk about buzzkill!

    GOOD TO KNOW

Besides its 157 guest rooms and suites, The Setai also offers 57 apartment suites. Twice daily housekeeping services, packing and unpacking services, complimentary pressing on arrival (for up to five items), childcare, private dining, a business center, and meeting and event facilities are all available. The Setai Fifth Avenue is part of Capella Hotels and Resorts.
