    VIBE

Thompson LES has set the city’s hipster scene ablaze with an oh-so-edgy Lower East Side locale and nightlife galore. Guest rooms, with their black mirrored walls and ”luxurious industrialism,” are more like sexy crash pads for the clubbing set than cuddly pampering zones, though the beds are pretty darn comfy (and low, low, low to the ground!). The real draw here isn’t the accommodations though–it’s the hot public spaces like the rooftop pool, the contemporary art installations in the lobby, and the two slick lounges.

    WHY WE LIKE IT

If you’re looking to run with the in-crowd, this is the place to come. The beautiful people scene is smoking, and we love that guests are given access to all the lounges (unlike some other spots around town…ahem…). Pack your slinkiest club duds and prepare for a killer hangover. (Though should you be looking for more innocent pleasures, there’re tons of nifty cafés and boutiques in the area.)

    AMENITY WE LOVE

Rooftop pool with Andy Warhol artwork on the floor. Nothing like taking in some classic contemporary art while you lounge poolside with a flashy cocktail…

    WHAT WE WOULD CHANGE

Rooms near the nightlife venues can get noisy.

    GOOD TO KNOW

If you’re really looking for scene, book during September Fashion Week, when style insiders can be found lounging around the pool. If it’s views you’re after, try to snag a room on one of the higher floors–some offer private balconies. Car service, valet parking, and airport transfer available. Work perks include business center and a media-equipped conference room (must be reserved in advance). Though cribs are on hand, this is definitely not a great spot for the under-21 set–the vibe is very much “adults only.”
