VIBE

This spacious posh cocktail bar in the Time Warner Center has become a go-to post-work watering hole for the cosmopolitan in-crowd. No surprise there; the Gerber Group tailored it for just that scene, bringing in sultrily muted lighting, gleaming marble flooring, plush couches, and walls bedecked in rosewood and stone (hence the name). From low tables, guests nibble on bar bites and plates prepared by an in-house sushi chef while tippling concoctions off the martini-laden menu.

WHY WE LIKE IT

The space is swank with just the right amount of clubbiness. The spaciousness makes for comfortable schmoozing (without worrying about knocking elbows) while the banquettes provide intimate spaces for more private conversations. Plus, it isn’t hard to impress with those massive windows facing Central Park.

WHAT WE WOULD CHANGE

It could use more character and some intimacy is lost because it’s so spacious.

GOOD TO KNOW

This place is fabulous for hosting larger parties. Because the space is so large, reservations are usually unnecessary, but we suggest calling ahead to make sure it hasn’t been rented out for the night.
