    VIBE

It’s almost as if you walked into nonna’s kitchen: the walls are papered in pastels and florals, the wooden chairs have precious curvy scrolls, and the tables are nestled close together and draped with heavy white tablecloths. Waiters speak knowledgably about the fine fare in Italian accents and the incredible service makes each delicious bite worth the pricey bill.

    CROWD

Well dressed business types and ladies who lunch; many are Upper East Siders visiting Downtown

    WHAT WE WOULD WEAR

Subtle elegance; a conservative dress with pumps and tasteful jewelry

    WHY WE LIKE IT

The staff is very informative, rattling off minute details about the food preparation and making smart comments about wine selections. Their attention makes us feel like the most important people in the room. And let’s not forget the incredibly decadent food.

    WHAT WE WOULD CHANGE

The portions are huge, more than enough for one person. We struggle to save room for dessert.

    GOOD TO KNOW

The tables are very close together, enhancing the cozy atmosphere. There’s no lunch served on Saturdays, nor for extended periods of time over the summer so be sure to call ahead to check. Since the owner sold the name and the restaurant, some loyal fans feel there’s been a noticeable difference in the experience.
