VIBE
This triple Michelin-starred “crown jewel” from renowned Thomas Keller masterfully combines both space and intimacy. The airy main dining room, decorated with earthen stone and wood detailing (including an iconic Keller blue wooden door), is urban and elegant, with just 15 tables enjoying the romantic views of Central Park and Columbus Circle. The food is just as sophisticated as the surrounds–the chef’s tasting menu changes daily, although certain popular dishes (like the oysters and pearls) thankfully seem to always be there.
CROWD
A mix of business types, food enthusiasts, well-off tourists, special occasioners, and socialites.
WHAT WE WOULD WEAR
Only formal attire will do (jackets are required for men); wear a sophisticated cocktail dress with a matching clutch, sleek heels, and subtle but elegant jewelry.

WHY WE LIKE IT
Everything is spot-on, from the impeccable and accommodating service and the flawless food (perfect in both presentation and taste) to the gorgeous views. What’s not to love?
WHAT WE WOULD CHANGE
Nothing
GOOD TO KNOW
Internationally renowned chef and perfectionist Thomas Keller closed his famed restaurant French Laundry for three months just to have his established staff train the new Per Se team. Be prepared for a long and relaxing evening (the average sit-down time for a nine course meal is around three to four hours). The tasting menus (chef’s tasting and vegetarian) change often; Per Se has also begun serving an à la carte menu for those seated in the bar. If you’re up for it, be sure to request a tour of the kitchen after supper; it does not disappoint.
