    Executive Chef Jeremy Bearman collaborated with a nutritionist to construct this restaurant’s market-fresh menu; it follows strict guidelines about sourcing, preparing, and enhancing food, and the seasonal ingredients are selected with eco-friendliness in mind. And whether it’s due to the nutritional science, the seasonal produce, or the sheer talent of the chefs, the fare is startlingly fresh. The “green” theme of the surrounds, complete with natural wood materials and colorful faux foliage, only serves to complement the environmentally conscious ideology and the all-natural eats.

    WHY WE LIKE IT

    We love the separate Juice Bar, which squeezes the freshest fruits and vegetables daily (don’t miss the excellent combinations, like the Pomegranate Mint). If you are in Midtown for work or otherwise, this is a great choice for a stylish lunch. (As added incentive, it’s just blocks away from Bergdorf Goodman.)

    Rouge Tomate began in Brussels and rapidly gained popularity. The business lunch prix fixe is a great value at USD 29. Note that the dinner menu is made up entirely of tasting servings, which are meant to be combined to create a full meal (if you don’t want to mix and match your own dinner, a USD 89 tasting menu is available in the evening). In season, the restaurant operates a cart in Central Park, at 64th Street and Fifth Avenue.
