This glossy, glimmering shop happens to be one of the largest Louis Vuitton shops in the world. Given the sheer size of the store, the collections are understandably voluminous, from the classic monogrammed handbags and trunks that launched the line over a century ago to men’s and women’s fashions and shoes. Still, the judicious use of plush carpets and deep leather chairs makes the space feel comfortable and luxurious rather than overwhelming.

It’s a classic. This is where we come to kit ourselves out in the latest Marc Jacobs-designed Parisian pieces when we’re à New York. Plus, those LV steamer trunks, while perhaps not that practical for jetsetting, are every traveler’s dream.

In New York, Louis Vuitton lines are also carried by Saks Fifth Avenue, Macy’s, and Bloomingdales. The window displays at Louis Vuitton are notoriously creative, so be sure to take a peek at the current exhibit before you head inside—previous displays have included animals sculpted from small leather goods, a giant ostrich carrying LV trunks, and signature Takashi Murakami for Louis Vuitton monogram printed all across the windows.
