The roomy reception area swirls with aromas of calming incense and herbal teas (complimentary while you wait), while the cozy treatment rooms themselves are candlelit and painted in soothing pastels. New Age and piano-dominated mood music plays lightly in the otherwise silent and serene rooms, void of any street noise. Spiritual objects and tranquil décor accent every wall, completing the oasis-like atmosphere. Incorporating everything from seaweed to crystals, the treatments promote better-looking skin through greater health, with purity and balance as the goal. Susan Ciminelli herself is available, by appointment only, for select facials, reflexology, Shiatsu, nutritional counseling, and guided meditation.

WHY WE LIKE IT

It's definitely a must-go for those who favor holistic methods above more clinical ones, and the location near Fifth Avenue and Madison Avenue is perfect if you need a break from shopping. From the signature robes and slippers to the prompt service (they wait by the changing room door for you to emerge), their personalized touch made us feel like VIPs. And at the end of the treatment, your spa worker provides you with a list of products used and products recommended for furthering your healing at home.

Foot massages are offered before treatments but are not complimentary. Be sure to ask what the cost will be for any supplementary healing service before accepting it. The spa offers a 20% “Super Tuesdays” discount on all services, but you must ask for it or else they will not acknowledge it on your bill.
