VIBE
Though the sleek interiors are more SoHo than SoBo (South of the Border), the master chefs and barkeeps at Dos Caminos ensure its Mexican-styled nosh and drinks are the big draw. The famous fresh guacamole (made tableside) or pescado tacos are best washed down with any of their 150 tequilas or funky cocktails. (You can’t go wrong with any of the cocktails, but here’s a word to the wise: don’t leave without trying their signature prickly pear margarita.) Trendy crowds come to enjoy drinks out on the patio during hotter days.
WHAT WE WOULD WEAR
The crowd tends to go upscale casual; jeans and a fun top would be just fine but you could dress it up a bit more if you wanted to.
GO HERE WITH
Groups of friends - for the funky digs and tasty margaritas; colleagues - for knocking back a few after hours
CROWD
Weekend tourists, after-work thirsters, and groups of young-and-fun friends.
WHY WE LIKE IT
The just right balance of not too kitschy, not too trendy. Plus, the huge selection of tequilas is one of the largest in the city (and offers one of the better ways to start a weekend off right!).
WHAT WE WOULD CHANGE
This place gets loud, especially as the night progresses, which can make deep conversation challenging. And waits for the outdoor tables cause the bar area to fill up quickly.
GOOD TO KNOW
There's a Special Sunset menu for those drinking or dining on the patio.
