VIBE
This market-focused and Mediterranean-inflected American eatery is a glossy brasserie of classy-yet-casual elegance. Triangularly shaped, the restaurant has a distinct downtown ethos, with glass windows that wrap the restaurant’s two sides and jut out to overlook the busy city intersection (which, unfortunately, contributes to the overall noise). The brightly lit dining room, however, has an open feel to it. Despite the walls showered in fine art and a collection of diverse knickknacks, it doesn't feel cluttered. The fare, served in small to medium-sized portions, is seasonal, contemporary, carefully cooked, and flavorful.
CROWD
A smart casual look works well here: black capris, a crisp white shirt, a funky necklace, and ballet flats.

WHY WE LIKE IT
It serves solid New American fare during all seasons, and the recommended plates (specifically the ribs and desserts) are particularly outstanding. Plus, the weekend brunch runs till 5:30pm, perfect for those really lazy days when you want some brunch but it’s already 3:00pm when you finally make it to the restaurant.
WHAT WE WOULD CHANGE
Service can be hit or miss.
GOOD TO KNOW
The bar is a perfect place to park yourself for a quick drink before the main event, and the outside tables are a nice warm-weather respite from the noisy dining room. The menu is all about sustainability; most of the food served here has been grown locally. Also, despite its name (which it takes from its address), there is no British connection or influence to this decidedly New York venue.
