One of the most exhilarating Michelin-starred dining experiences in Manhattan. Located in the Art Deco Metropolitan Life North building, the spacious interior of Eleven Madison Park melds sleek industrial lines with natural touches; enormous flower arrangements and topiary elegantly complement views of Madison Square Park through massive ceiling-high windows. Head chef Daniel Humm impresses with his classic, meticulous mastery of each flavor on the New American menu, and he even occasionally takes a break from the kitchen to circle the floor and greet his customers. This venue seeks to astound on multiple levels, and as far as we’re concerned, it has succeeded.

The business power crowd and a smattering of foodie/well-off tourists come during the week for lunches, while families and couples fill it up on evenings and weekends.

Dressy, in an understated way. Opt for an elegant dress and your favorite Jimmy Choos and clutch in the evening, and a more tailored look of a silk blouse, slacks, and Pradas during the day.

GOOD TO KNOW

Be prepared for the unconventional menu, which lists dishes by their major ingredients (for instance “Pork, Plum, Crab, Chocolate”). Guests must make their own selections according to taste and the meal will be designed from there (you can, of course, note any dietary restrictions, too). There are some great private rooms available, perfect for smaller weddings or other classy events. In addition to the aforementioned Michelin stars, Eleven Madison Park has also won numerous James Beard Foundation awards over the years, including a 2011 win for Best Pastry Chef (don’t forget to sample the desserts!).
