Displaying the same ironic humor apparent in his “Punk Chic” collars (extravagant pieces crafted from solid gold safety pins that recall the scruffy homemade fashions of goth teenagers), Irish jewelry designer (and darling of the Hollywood in-crowd) Tom Binns’ “megastore” turns out to be a tiny, standing-room-only boutique in the West Village. Binns’ colorful, one-of-a-kind, chunky couture necklaces (beaded with crystals, semi-precious stones, pearls, lewd lockets, and skull pendants, among other things) have enough look-at-me factor to amp up even the most blah of red carpet get-ups, and they certainly add some much-needed wow-factor to the cramped, minimalist premises of the shop.

We totally dig his edgy, funky sense of style–this is serious jewelry for the young-and-hip set–and we also really get a kick out of the way the boutique is infused with his offbeat sense of humor. Worth a visit for the experience even if you won’t be forking out for one of his fabulous necklaces.
