    VIBE

Socialites look no further than this Palm Beach favorite where everyone who’s anyone seems required to stop in and catch up. Decked out in British colonial style with wicker furniture, pink banquettes, and khaki walls, the tropical McCarty’s preserves that old Palm Beach flair so loved and missed by its locals. After dinners of home-cooked continental fare, a late-night cocktail crowd heads to the moonlit outdoor terrace (and Rory’s, the oh-so-pink private room that opens to the public on peak nights only) to enjoy a few glasses of wine amidst cool breezes and general congeniality.

    WHAT WE WOULD WEAR

Keep it upscale casual with a crisp button-up blouse, neat pants or sleek skirt, fancy heels, and a classic up-do.

    CROWD

The preppy old Palm Beach brunch, lunch, and late-night cocktail crowd.

    WHY WE LIKE IT

Despite its sceney rep and gussied-up clientele, the staff remains surprisingly relaxed and unpretentious and makes you feel part of the everyone-knows-everyone crowd.

    WHAT WE WOULD CHANGE

The surrounds are starting to look a bit dated, and the crowd here looks a little uniform (unless you dress to blend in, you will probably stand out).

    GOOD TO KNOW

Along with the restaurant and attached bar, there is also an outdoor terrace and a private bar and clubroom called Rory’s that’s become quite the venue for private parties. Takeout is available.
