    VIBE

Classic American diner. The burgers are the real deal (you’ll need two hands for these babies) and sides like fries and milkshakes are just like you remember them. “Décor” amounts to a U-shaped counter in the middle of the restaurant and a handful of vinyl booths. The long-suffering waitresses are gruff, but that doesn’t stop the cream of Palm Beach from packing in. As one of the only reasonably priced options on the island, this place gets packed at peak times.

    CROWD

A funny mix of photo-snapping tourists and well-heeled locals.

    WHAT WE WOULD WEAR

    Whatever we like–it’s really casual.

    WHY WE LIKE IT

This spot is a classic. The burgers aren’t always perfect, and it gets crowded at lunchtime, but that all just adds to the charm.

    WHAT WE WOULD CHANGE

The food can be hit or miss–come more for the laidback diner atmosphere than for the cuisine. And we wish this place was open on Sundays–it’s closed just when you need it most.

    GOOD TO KNOW

The hours are sometimes reduced during the off-season–call ahead to double-check.
