Given Palm Beach County has the highest concentration of golf courses in the country, it’s no surprise that top golfers from around the world congregate here during the winter to perfect their game. Highlights include Scottish-style Seminole in North Palm Beach ((1) 561-626-0280), Jack Nicklaus-designed Bear’s Club in Jupiter (www.thebearsclub.com), and Pine Tree in Boynton Beach (pinetreegolfclub.net). However, these courses are for members only, meaning unless you belong or have a friend “on the inside,” it can be tough to gain access. On the other hand, The Breakers (www.thebreakers.com), which owns two excellent members-only courses, opens its links to hotel guests, and most hotels on the island are partnered with one or more courses in the area. Another more relaxed option is the public Palm Beach Golf Club (www.golfontheocean.com), a well-maintained Par 3 with impressive water views–it’s a great spot for a casual round in a laidback atmosphere.
