Just blocks from shopping and dining mecca Worth Avenue, this four-star boutique hotel blends classic Palm Beach architecture with the whimsical charm of a British inn. Character-rich public spaces and rooms alike offer an intimacy akin to a European bed and breakfast (read: cute, but rather worn out and a little on the small side). That said, though it may be less luxurious than other Palm Beach names, it’s worth a stay here for the fantastic location and the helpful, low-key staff. If you are going to book here, definitely spring for the Junior Suite–while the pint-sized basic rooms are a bit tired, the Junior Suites are comfortably sized and more up-to-date.

    WHY WE LIKE IT

    Location, location, location.

    AMENITY WE LOVE

The charming, secluded little courtyard pool.

    WHAT WE WOULD CHANGE

The basic rooms are too tiny for us (even if this hotel is channeling its British heritage).

    GOOD TO KNOW

Along with being the hotel’s signature restaurant, the Leopard Lounge and Bar is also one of the hotter nightspots in town for the over-50 set; residents and visitors from all around come for its nightly live entertainment, from classical guitarists to talented vocalists. The Chesterfield is a member of the Red Carnation Hotel Collection and Small Luxury Hotels of the World.
