    VIBE

Palm Beach’s answer to Rodeo Drive. It got its start in the 1920s when the exclusive Everglades Club held weekly fashion shows here (they even helped launch designers like Valentino and Elizabeth Arden in the process), and the posh shops on this gilded stretch of road still cater to an upper-crust clientele. International luxury brands like Cartier, Hermès, Tiffany & Co., Chanel, and Louis Vuitton dominate and two classic department stores (Saks and Neiman's) anchor the street, but a bevy of native Palm Beach boutiques, galleries, and restaurants like Kassatly’s Inc., Cashmere Beach, and Ta-boo Restaurant and Bar add some local color. The elegant Med-inflected architecture, stately palms, and flower-drenched vias leading off of it are very small town Florida, but the crowds (a cosmopolitan mix of fashionistas and power players) and the fashions on offer are big city.

    WHY WE LIKE IT

There’s a nice range of boutiques, from elegant classics (Trillion, Stubbs & Wootton, Maus and Hoffman, Leta Austin Foster Boutique) to younger, trendier spots (Eye of the Needle, Juicy Couture, and Gypsy). Besides being shopping central, this is also where most of the action’s at–a good place to go if you’re at a loose end in Palm Beach.

    GOOD TO KNOW

It’s something of a desert in the summer, when many of the shops have limited hours or are closed. Maintaining a connection with Worth Avenue’s past, many of the boutiques here still host trunk shows and fashion shows throughout The Season. Some of the best, most unique finds are located in the small alleyways behind Worth Avenue (but accessible from the main road), so don’t miss these small “vias.”
