Down at the family-run Relais de l’Entrecôte, they’ve got pretty much anything your heart could desire, as long as your heart desires steak, fries, and special sauce. That’s right, folks. The foxily clad waitresses (think classic “tight black dress, tiny white apron”) at this vintage establishment serve up exactly one dish (steak frites), doused in the sauce of your choice. Orders are scribbled right on the paper tablecloths, and you’re treated to a second portion (on the house!) as soon as you’ve wiped your plate clean after the first. A no-reservations policy means lines are out the door, but efficient, speedy service keeps things moving.

It’s casual. We’d toss on comfy jeans (to accommodate that second helping) and a machine washable cardi (just in case we go too bananas with the special sauce).

GOOD TO KNOW

Avoid peak lunch and dinner times to lessen the wait. Leave your vegetarian friends at home, but bring the family–Le Relais de L’Entrecôte is reasonably kid-friendly.
