It’s not hard to see why Alexandre Zouari is known as “the man with the golden scissors”: his experiences as a fashion designer (working with Valentino and Hermès, among others), model, and actor on the vibrant 1960s Paris scene endowed him with a flawless eye for style, making his elegant, timeless cuts a must-have for many a royal and silver screen star. His chic salon features luxurious black marble counters, dark wood floors, mirrors galore, and a gorgeous corps of Zouari-trained stylists dishing out elegant cuts and skin treatments.

WHY WE LIKE IT

The cuts are stylish, and the space has a très chic Parisian vibe.

WHAT WE WOULD CHANGE

It’s pricey, and the exclusive client list (which includes the likes of Carla Bruni, Elizabeth Taylor, and Queen Noor) means it’s pretty much impossible to get an audience with Zouari himself. We had a nice haircut, but it wasn’t specifically what we had requested–our stylist was more focused on his own vision than on ours.

GOOD TO KNOW

Zouari pioneered the use of a hair dryer and brush to create curls, and his stylists still use the technique in the salon today. The salon also offers a range of Alexandre Zouari hair fashion accessories.
