    VIBE

The ultimate shopping break. The luxurious Printemps department store is already known for its pampering service (concierge anyone?), but if that’s not enough to keep you from feeling a bit weary after your retail therapy exploits, then head to this divine spa where “fairy-like” technicians use NUXE’s house brand of luxury creams and tinctures to massage away what ails you. Elements of the building’s iconic Art Nouveau architecture, like intricate mosaics and woodwork, are complemented with understated, Asian-inspired design and neutral, minimalist furnishings to create an undeniably sumptuous yet serene and soothing space. Every detail, from heated treatment beds to hidden showers to just-right hooks for hanging your shopping bags, has been attended to in the swanky private treatment rooms, so you can really let yourself go.

    WHY WE LIKE IT

It’s the perfect pampering complement to a day of shopping the collections at Printemps. Department store spas may have a bad rap, but this one breaks the mold with its full menu of treatments and luxurious private treatment areas.

    WHAT WE WOULD CHANGE

The small waiting area near the reception is a bit too close to the brouhaha of the department store, and there aren’t any complementary facilities to speak of. (If you prefer a wider range of complementary facilities or a bit more atmosphere in the surrounds, check out NUXE’s Montorgueil and other Parisian locations: 32 Montorgueil, with its medieval stonework and verdant garden space, is particularly romantic.)

    GOOD TO KNOW

Hammam treatments and treatments for men are available. (Men are kindly asked to shave one hour before any facial treatment.) Spa NUXE recommends that you arrive 10 minutes before your appointment, while 48-hour notice is required for cancellations. If you are pregnant, you may require a doctor’s letter before you can partake in a body treatment. Massages are not available for under-18s. Les Escapades treatments are non-refundable and require a 30% deposit when you book.

    OTHER LOCATIONS

32 Montorgueil (1st Arr.); Hôtel Square (16th Arr.); Hôtel Le Mathurin (8th Arr.); Le Touquet; Perros-Guirec; Peisey Vallandry; Aix-en-Provence
