Pool party! This stylish rooftop, poolside lounge at the swanky W Taipei attracts a chic crowd of cosmopolitan hotel guests and trendy Taipei locals. By day, the mod loungers lining the pool deck are packed with hip young things sipping cocktails and scoping the scene. After dark, the indoor bar space becomes the center of action, as hot DJs fire up the turntables and the glossy bar stools become some of the most desireable real estate in town.

WHY WE LIKE IT

We'll never turn down afternoon drinks by the pool, but we really love the cool evening vibes. The combo of trendy scene and skyline views makes this one of our favorite nocturnal haunts when we’re looking to woo a date or knock back a few with friends.

WHAT WE WOULD CHANGE

The drinks have way too much ice in them, and the outdoor seats (not the poolside loungers) are both really heavy (our host had to pull ours back for us) and really low to the ground (our 6’1" friend had an “interesting” time getting into his seat).

GOOD TO KNOW

The W Taipei has two other onsite watering holes, Woo Bar and Bar at Yen. To get to the Bar at WET, you must walk through Woo Bar, which is a cozier experience with mod fireplaces.
