    VIBE

Plush, pearly gray dim sum restaurant where the elegantly understated setting provides a refined backdrop for the truly stunning eats. The highlight of the menu is the delicate dim sum selection, but delicacies like shark’s fin, sea cucumber, and abalone also make a splash. The second-floor perch, complete with floor-to-ceiling windows, affords lots of natural light and great views of fashionable XinYi Road, though the views inside of the stylish crowd are just as compelling.

    CROWD

By day, it’s filled with business diners, while on evenings and weekends, it fills up with couples and families out for a fancy meal.

    WHAT WE WOULD WEAR

Upscale casual by day and dressier after dark. We’d dress to the surrounds with a subtle, elegant look, like a silk blouse and dark slim pants with a Chanel bag.

    WHY WE LIKE IT

The dim sum is really fantastic. Our favorites last time we visited were the elegantly fried chicken (their signature dish and one of the best versions we've had), the braised sea cucumber and goose web, and the radish spring rolls. The upscale yet understated vibe makes this a good spot for a low-key schmooze session with clients or a date, as well as a refined luncheon with family or friends.

    WHAT WE WOULD CHANGE

    Not much.

    GOOD TO KNOW

This used to be a famous seafood restaurant. After it closed, the team behind Ji Pin rehired all of the staff, revamped the space, and created this Cantonese restaurant.
