This bright yellow open-air kiosk dishes up massive Taiwanese shaved ices to eager crowds. The legendary desserts consist of shaved ice topped with condensed milk and fresh fruit like mangos and strawberries. There are only a handful of tables and limited counter space, so you’ll be lucky if you can score a seat.

WHY WE LIKE IT

The ideal snack on a humid summer’s day, especially during mango season (mid to late summer). The shaved ice portions are large enough to share with at least two other people, but they’re so good that we’re not shy about having a whole one to ourselves. Yong Kang 15 is just down to the street from legendary dumping joint DinTaiFung, in case you want to make it a culinary double header.

It’s pricier than other shaved ice places, and the waits are long.

GOOD TO KNOW

Yong Kang 15 occupies the former location of another shaved ice stand, Ice Monster, which was hugely popular, and some complain Yong Kang 15 is simply trading on the original's fame. Delivery is available 10:00am to 5:00pm (there’s a minimum order of TWD 1000), but we think going there is way more fun. The spectacularly ripe, fresh fruit options are the venue’s main draw, and not only are the mangos amazing, but also the kiwis and strawberries (so don’t worry if it's not mango season).
