VIBE
This busy night market is packed from sundown onwards with locals hungry for traditional Taiwanese snacks like shaved ice and stinky tofu. The narrow street is lined with more than 100 stalls and shops, and although snacks are the focus–this is Taiwan, after all, where food comes first!–clothing, accessories, and souvenirs are also available.

WHY WE LIKE IT
We love coming here to experiment with Taiwanese street food–the finger-food sized portions are perfect for grazing, and there are so many tempting delicacies to sample. Because the market can be quite crowded, it can be tricky to score a seat, but for us that just adds to the appeal. We prefer to let the crowds carry us along so that we’re constantly sampling different snacks.
GOOD TO KNOW
It’s a bit of a walk from the nearest metro station (all the better to work up an appetite and to walk off all those eats).
