This low-key yet upscale neighborhood has some of the cutest restaurants in town as well as a smattering of interesting boutiques and bookshops. Block out at least an afternoon to sample the Japanese izakayas, coffee shops, and noodle joints, and to pick up nifty souvenirs and gifts from the funky shops. At night, the vibe is bustling with the after-work set swinging through the area for a drink or bite.

WHY WE LIKE IT
It's THE place to connect with savvy young Taipei professionals. We like how it’s not very touristy, just a relaxed hangout for those in the know. And the selection of restaurants is pretty broad–don’t leave without trying some Taiwanese beef noodle soup or shaved ice.
GOOD TO KNOW
The cute little streets shooting off the small park in the middle of the neighborhood are full of fun stores and cafés just waiting to be discovered.
