    VIBE

Don’t be fooled by the unassuming exterior: this small hot springs resort steps from the Xin BeiTou MRT station offers well-appointed Roman bath-style pools as well as a small spa, chic private hot springs suites, and a 69-room hotel. The communal bathing facilities, divided into men’s and women’s sections, offer underwater massage chairs and hot and cold baths, while the private hot springs suites are a more personalized experience with Japanese accents like tatami mats. The onsite spa specializes in hydrotherapy treatments, particularly for the feet. If you can't pull yourself away from the healing waters, the hotel offers Western- and Japanese-style rooms with en suite hot spring tubs.

    WHY WE LIKE IT

We like the clean, minimalist look of the facilities and the excellent range of pools. Plus, even though the location is really convenient, SweetMe isn’t choked with tour groups like some of the other nearby spas.

    WHAT WE WOULD CHANGE

The onsite food options aren’t great, and some of the hotel guest rooms could use an update.

    GOOD TO KNOW

While most guests enjoy the communal baths in the buff, if you aren’t comfortable, you can wear a bathing suit (or get a private spa suite). Hotel rooms come with a complimentary buffet breakfast and start at TWD 5600/night. The hot spring museum, which gives interesting background information about the development of the BeiTou hot springs area, is just across the street from SweetMe (and it’s free!).
