Jaelo in Washington, DC is a popular Spanish tapas restaurant owned and created by José Andrés

    VIBE

Be prepared for a mature take on the fiesta at this perennial DC favorite owned and operated by celeb-chef José Andrés. The lively tapas restaurant is done up like a Spanish palace with warm colored tiles, intricate mirrors, bold murals, and scrolled iron fixtures. The décor is airy and fun, but the real draw is the menu. Dishing out small plates just like they do in Madrid, the kitchen excels at classics like garlic shrimp, Iberian ham, and Spanish tortilla. We like to come with a big group and sample all the little bites on offer. But, if you don’t like to share, the tasting menu or large helpings of paella are excellent too.

    CROWD

A rowdy bunch of trendy 30-somethings and off-the-clock politicos

    WHAT WE WOULD WEAR
