    VIBE

This classy American venue is popular with families for the delicious Sunday brunch and with the professional crowd and romantic couples for the elegant dinner. Checkerboard floors set the black-and-white décor theme in the softly lit dining room, which is at once cozy and refined. In warm weather, the leafy patio is a lovely setting for the elaborate brunch, with highlights including egg dishes, Bloody Marys, and to-die-for donuts. Be prepared for Tabard Inn to charm your socks off.

    CROWD

Hip 30-/40-somethings who come for the brunch, and a mature crowd who comes for the refined lunch and dinner service.

    WHAT WE WOULD WEAR

Something fun and flirty for brunch, like a floral sundress and delicate accessories; business-casual slacks and a simple top paired with a silk scarf work well at night.

    WHY WE LIKE IT

The soothing atmosphere, the delectable dinners (the desserts aren’t to be missed!), and yummy brunch classics make it perfect for catching up with friends or sharing intimate conversation with a special someone.

    WHAT WE WOULD CHANGE

    Not much.

    GOOD TO KNOW

Be sure to come a touch early for a cocktail in the lounge; it’s a supremely cozy affair, and you may even decide to return after dining for a nightcap (it’s that kind of place). Brunch reservations are really hard to come by, so be sure to book in advance. Live jazz on Sunday evenings is a calming, classy weekend wind-down. Reservations are not accepted for the patio or the bar.
